Lyon, food capital of France, home of Beaujolais Nouveau and Cote Du Rhone, but also capital of the Gauls during the Roman Empire, was the perfect place to shoot our summer lookbook.
We brought all the team from London to explore the city for a couple of days and discover the local specialties. 30 degree heat and blue sky all day long ensured that it was the ideal summer city break, and also a beautiful background to showcase our Aleks, Grant, Duke & New Caine linen and cotton trousers from our summer collection, along with our Windsor double-pleated shorts.
Starting the day well, with a visit to the local boulangerie for a baguette, fresh out of the oven.
Before a quick visit to a coffee shop to taste the local brioche aux pralines.
We explored and walked around the Vieux Lyon, the city's oldest district, dating from the Middle Age, and where plenty of local bouchon, classic Lyonnais restaurants, are located.
With the scorching heat, it was time to change into our Windsor Navy Shorts, while walking around the ruins of the Roman amphitheater of Fourviere.
We stopped in Bouchon Les Lyonnais for lunch, to have some classic tête de veau and gratin de ravioles, followed by a chartreuse verte, when in Lyon, do like Lyonnais do!
Quick ice-cream stop to help with the heat.
The famous marionette de Guignol.
Before we knew it, it was time to make our way to La Mere Jean, a classic bouchon Lyonnais, this time to have some boudin noir, gratin dauphinois and a classic quenelle et sauce nantua, with a glass of red wine, for good measure. And just like that, these couple of days in Lyon were over and it was time to make our way back to London.
