Kit Blake started with a clear idea of what a proper pair of trousers should be. British in style, made in Italy, and built around a higher rise, a fuller cut, and the kind of details that are usually reserved for bespoke. Not skinny, not low rise, and not designed around trends, we offer proper trousers.

It Starts with the Cut
The cut is the foundation. All of our trousers sit on the waist, with a higher rise, a clean line through the leg, and enough room through the thigh to move properly. This is about balance and proportion, not volume. The higher rise changes how everything else works. Shirts tuck cleanly, jackets fall properly, and the silhouette feels more natural.
Our double pleated Aleks and Grant, as well as our single pleated Duke, all feature a full, classic cut. The Delon sits slightly slimmer through the leg, but remains a proper trouser, with enough room to avoid looking or feeling skinny.
Pleats are central to this. Whether double or single, they are cut deep and designed to open with movement. They are not decorative. They give room through the front, improve comfort when sitting, and allow the trousers to move naturally with the body. Our double forward pleats are more pronounced, while our single pleat offers a slightly cleaner front, but both follow the same principle. It is a detail rarely seen in ready to wear, and one that defines how our trousers fit and feel.

Side Adjusters, Not Belt Loops
All of our trousers come with side adjusters rather than belt loops, which keeps the waistband clean and uninterrupted while removing the need for a belt. In practice, this allows for small adjustments throughout the day while maintaining a sharper line through the waist, and it is a simple detail that changes the look of the trousers.

The Waistband and Construction
The inside of the trousers is finished with the same level of attention as the outside. The waistband is fully lined, sometimes featuring our house check, with rubberised brace buttons to help keep your shirt in place, along with an extension waistband with a split back that improves comfort and movement across the day. These details are subtle, but they make a noticeable difference in wear.

Cloth Comes First
We work with mills such as Fox Brothers and Vitale Barberis Canonico for wool flannels and tropical wools, and Hardy Minnis for Fresco wool cloths. We source linens from Spence Bryson and Maison Hellard, and cottons from Solbiati and Brisbane Moss, alongside a small number of other mills.
The cloth defines how the trousers feel and how they wear over time. Fresco wools are dry, breathable, and resistant to creasing. Tropical wools are softer, but still light and easy to wear. Flannels bring weight in colder months, while linens and cottons are better suited to warmer weather.

Made in Italy, in Small Batches
All of our trousers are made in Italy. We produce in small batches, which allows us to maintain consistency and focus on the details that matter. It also means that certain styles and sizes sell through quickly.
Designed to Be Worn Properly
These are not trousers designed for a single occasion. They are made to be worn regularly. To move in, to sit in, to travel in. To hold their shape throughout the day, and to remain comfortable while doing so.

At Kit Blake, we make proper trousers, in the right cloths, always made in Italy.
